School-wide notes…

• Sunday, Sept. 8 - ALL Gr. K-8 sings at 11am outdoor worship - Brick after Brick

         3. Time to meet:  Sit with families (bring blankets or chairs) and come up to sing when called during the service.

• ALL students are scheduled with class groupings to sing in worship throughout the year. Worship and music is a vital part of who we are at St. Paul. Each family received a paper schedule and we also put it online at calendar.splgrafton.org. The first time is Sept. 8 (see above!)  Please make it a priority to be there - your children feel most secure when everyone is there like they practiced.  :-). "I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O Lord, I will make music."  (Psalm 101:1)

• The Extracurricular Handbook  provides the expectations & requirements for participation in ANY extracurricular activity for the ENTIRE year (choir, sports team, forensics, handbell group, dance team, or jazz band). You can find it under the Resources page on the school website.
  • 1. Please read through the Extracurricular Activity Handbook 
  • 2. Gr. 5-8 students also need to read & understand their responsibilities and academic eligibility guidelines
  • 3. print & sign the form on the last page, and send it to school for Mr. Kell or Ms. Bremer  -OR- scan a signed copy and email to jeremy.kell@splgrafton.org.

•  Sign up for Music Groups in the undercroft! Rehearsals start on Wed, Sept. 11 for JiVE. PraisePower & JuBellate start Mon, Sept. 16.  Children's Choir starts the following week on Mon, Sept. 23.

•  INFO for ALL Gr. 7 & 8 PARENTS - ALL Grades 7 & 8 Students are in One-Act Plays on Friday, Nov. 1.  There will be performances in the FLC for the school (guests are welcome!) at 9am as well as that evening at 6:30pm. More details will come out in September to the students.

• Planning ahead...Christmas services for students will be at different times.  Pre-K and Kindergarten will have their services on Dec. 14 at either 9 or 10:30 am. Grades 1-2 will have their service on Dec. 18 at 6:30 pm. The previous Wed, Dec. 11 is Gr. 3-4, preceded by Gr. 5-8 on Wed, Dec. 4.

Not only does learning songs put God's word in their mind & heart, but it also teaches our kids to use their gifts in serving the Lord. This is part of who we are at St. Paul. 🙂

We can’t wait to see you in church. (If there is a conflict, please let me or your child's homeroom teacher know. We are also trying to teach our kids the importance of communicating when commitments must be missed.) THANK YOU for your partnership in making worship a priority in our community.

Eligibility Reminders:      This applies to Gr. 5-8 students in extracurricular Music Groups (Jazz Band, JiVE, Chapel Singers & JuBellate). Eligibility is checked every 2 weeks. The music handbook specifies the requirements. You get a 2-week warning if your grades are low. If they don't come up to the minimum requirements, then students may not be involved in practice or performances until their grades are high enough at the next eligibility check.
