Reading
When we return from break, we will begin preparing for our Advocacy speeches. I am envisioning a Ted-Talk sort of situation where each student will choose a topic that they feel passionate about, conduct research, and put together a persuasive presentation to advocate for their topic. This week will be all about the research and building of the speech. Speeches will take place next week.

Science
SCIENCE BLOCKS: MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY
This week, we will continue our 5th unit on "Systems in Space". This week, we will be learning about Earth’s movements and about how Earth's movements create the patterns we observe - such as gravity, shadows, day & night, the seasons, and even constellation patterns. Students will inquire, research and investigate to help them learn about each of these topics. Students will continue to do quite a bit of writing at the end of each mini-lesson, summarizing what they have learned to help them answer our lesson question. This topic will continue the week we return from spring break.
Social Studies
We will be finishing our unit on the Civil War/Reconstruction this week. We will probably not make it to our test, so hold onto your hats for more information about that!
