Weekly Update

November 11th-15th, 2024 “Food and Nutrition” 

This past week we started our unit on food and nutrition. We learned about the five different food groups and what food item belongs in which group. Also, we did a rainbow goldfish graphing activity and a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball activity. Our letter of the week was Ff for food. Our bible lessons focused on Moses and the Ten Commandments. 

This upcoming week we are still focusing on food and nutrition. We will do a color sorting activity with food. Also, we will do activities like what’s in my lunch bag, a taste test, and seeing what foods are the same color on the outside as the inside. We will also have another kindergarten buddy day!  Our letter of the week will continue to be Ff. Our bible lessons will continue to be about the Ten Commandments. 

The PreK & Kindergarten Pajama Party is coming up on Friday, November 15th from 6:00-7:00 PM. Bring your family for fun, crafts, games and a short movie.

This week, I sent home information about our reading incentive program. If you would like your child to participate in the reading program sponsored by Eaton’s Pizza in Grafton, please read at least three books per week. Fill out the calendar, include a parent signature, and have your child hand in the calendar on the last day of each month to get a free pizza!

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a special Thanksgiving Feast with the other classes. Your child will be coming home with an invitation that tells you what your child should bring to share with others. In addition, you and adult family guests are invited to attend. Please complete the bottom portion of the invitation and return to school by Monday, November 18th so that we can plan accordingly.

Dec. 20th: Christmas Party, Bring $5 gift for gift exchange

Dec. 23rd- Jan. 5th: No School, Christmas Break

Please remember to bring your All About Me banner, show and tell (can be brought each day), and a snack to share(snack should be brought each day.) The AM class has 16 students and the PM class has 5 students.
