7th Weekly Update

Christ Our Builder

Updates

The message in one of the Christmas cards I sent out years ago still resonates with me:  wise men still seek him.  At the same time, I recall one of the sermons based upon the gospel story of Zacchaeus:  I had often thought of the story from Zacchaeus’s perspective, where he climbed up the tree to see Jesus, to just get a glimpse of Him.  However, the account was yet another example of Jesus seeking out one man who truly needed him, looking through the crowd and into that tree to find him.  That Jesus still seeks us, and he will not give up until he finds us -- wherever we live or wherever we are in our faith walk.  My prayer, then, is that through these next few days and always, we seek Him and allow Him to find us.

Merry Christmas!

Thank you -- I truly was humbled by the notes and gifts at Christmas.  I am privileged to work in this St. Paul community, together, for all of our kids.

Writing

  • Our next Pattern of Power is how to effectively use semicolons; this punctuation mark connects sentences that are so closely related, writers wish they could write them as one.   As always, grammar is a TOOL for effective communication. 🙂
  • The  next writing unit will focus on narrative writing, adding qualities to deepen the readers’ experience.
