Mr. Wellna Weekly Update - May 19th-25th

We have ourselves a 4 1/2 day week this week!  The biggest thing for 6th grade this week is clearly our chapel on Wednesday.  PLEASE read over your child's lines with them.  We are loud enough, but often too fast and need to slow down.  We will be practicing on Monday and Tuesday during social studies.  Please feel free to join us Wednesday at 8:25.

PICNIC LUNCH FORMS: Sheets were sent home.  Return them if you want a hot dog lunch on Track and Field Day.

SINGING IN CHURCH on May 19th for Pentecost.  Please put that on your calendars!

PE

Welcome back to PE!  We have some great activities planned this year.

Reading

We will continue to read Esperanza Rising this week. Much of our discussion will focus around thinking about who is control/holds the power, and how those who are below them respond. There will be some nightly reading homework, so please be sure that your child has access to paper/sticky notes/note cards to complete their nightly stop-and-jots.

Religion

This week we will finish unit 8 in Friendzy and turn in workbook pages 65-69. We also continue with season 1 of The Chosen with episodes about the miracle of water into wine and Jesus talking with Nicodemus.

Science

6th Science This week in 6th science we are finishing Topic 11 Earth-Sun-Moon System.  We will have our final test of the year on Wednesday, May 22.

Social Studies

Well this week, we will practice our chapel a few times.  Then, we will be ending the year with a little Scrapbook Project.  It will be great.

Vocab

None! We are finished with vocab for the school year. 😄 We will say a final farewell and turn in our books on Monday.

Quarter Class
