Dear Parents,
It was nice to meet with you last week. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about what we will be doing during the school year. During the month of September, we will spend lots of time getting to know each other and becoming comfortable with our new environment at school. Below, you will find a description of the September units and activities. Please note the field trip days and days off of school on your calendar.
Aug. 25-27 & 30-Sept. 2…WELCOME God Made Me
We will spend time getting to know our new friends and learning about how we are all special creations made by God. For our Bible lesson will be learning about how Jesus knows us by our names and loves us from Isaiah 43:1. Our activities will include making handprints, getting to know each other, and starting to make a friendship book. The children will continue their discussion and activities from the previous week. In addition, we will learn about how Jesus promises to be with us from Matthew 28:20. The children will also begin working in their ABC Journal as we look at the letter "I".
Sept. 7-10...Jesus Wants Me to Bee
During this unit, we will be learning about how Jesus wants us to "bee" kind, loving and helpful. We will use the visual of a bee to help the children remember these three Christian behaviors. We will also reinforce that Jesus wants us to be good listeners and follow directions. The children will have the opportunity to do activities, games and projects that will reinforce and help remind them to "bee” as Jesus would want them to be. We will practice writing the letters "B” and "Q" in our letter journals. In our Bible lessons, we will be learning about how God made the world and plants from Genesis 1:1-31.
Sept. 13 – 17…Farm Fun
We will begin this unit by taking a trip to the Gall’s Horse Farm on Birchwood Road in Saukville. We will learn about how to take care of horses and we will get to have an opportunity to ride a horse too. Parents are welcome to attend this field trip. We will need lots of help as the children ride the horses. Please fill out the enclosed field trip form and return the form with the money by Friday, Sept. 10th. During the remainder of the week, we will be doing various activities as we explore life on the farm. We will practice the letter "H" for horse and hay. Our Bible lesson will be about How God made the animals and people from Genesis 1:24-31.
Sept. 20-24...Rodeo Round-Up
During this week, Mrs. Scheunemann will be leading the activities in the classroom. The children will enjoy fun-filled activities around the Rodeo theme. In our Bible lesson, we will talk about how God is always with us through the story of God calling Abraham from Genesis 12:1-5.
Sept. 27 – Oct. 1…Outer Space
We will have fun learning about all of the wonders in space this week. We will learn about what it is like to be an astronaut as we learn about the sun, moon, stars, and planets. We will practice the letter “S” for spaceship and stars. Our Bible Lesson will be how God blessed Abraham with night time and rest from Genesis 1:14-19.

Sept. 3 & 6: No School
Sept. 14 & 15: Fieldtrip to Gall’s Horse Farm
Mrs. Frinzi, Mrs. Scheunemann, and I are looking forward to working with you and your children to make this a positive experience. We will also have a Grandma helper on Wednesday mornings, Mrs. Elda Miller.
